Spring Sprung!

Okay, we need to catch up a bit. In February, we signed Isaak up for T-ball. John and I ended up taking a team and John became the head coach. It's been so much fun watching this team come together. Isaak has grown so much as a player. He went from knowing nothing about the game, to practicing everyday and still wanting more. He plays 2nd base, pitcher and sometimes outfield. Whatever position he's at, he stops everything that comes to him. His arm is getting pretty good too. He's throwing the ball hard and hitting his target. In the middle of the season, Isaak hit his first homerun. He was the last batter of the game with two runners on base. He hit a bonafide double, but the kid overthrew to second and Isaak kept going. When he rounded third and was headed home, he got the biggest grin on his face. John cast aside all of his coach objectivity and scooped Isaak up and carried him back to the dugout. Isaak was thrilled with himself. John is exhausted by the time he gets done with a game (try wrangling 15 five-year olds). He keeps it fun for the kids though and they love him. The parents have made lots of comments about how happy they are with John coaching so it's been a success. We've probably got one of the strongest (if not the strongest) all-kindergarten team in the league. If I do say so myself, we've also got the cutest uniforms. I can't imagine how good these kids will be by the time they hit little league.
